Liz Handcrafted Soaps is a family operation located in Cross Junction, Virginia. Judy is a former school teacher who fell out of love with writing lesson plans and in love with making all kinds of soap on weekends. Her love of herbs, flowers, essential oils and natural skin care led to the study of soapmaking. There were never enough scents to try and never enough hours in the day for Judy and her soap. What began as a weekend hobby quickly turned her home into a soap spa! Something had to be done with all that soap!
And so it happened one snowy day in January of 2007 that Judy decided to start a soap company and name it after her mother, her daughter, her grandmother and her step-mother-in-law. After all, with so many Elizabeths (and one Liz) in the family, Liz Handcrafted Soaps was the perfect name for the little soap company in Cross Junction.
Keli Elizabeth, Judy's daughter, designed and created the logo and labels. Ken, Judy's husband, is the main advisor, loyal supporter and magical manager of all the markets involved in selling Liz Handcrafted Soaps.
We have one philosophy that makes soapmaking such a rewarding experience. We like to call it The Liz Philosophy--"Live your life, love what you do and lather up at the end of the day!"
